Founded in 2022, Classic Béton is a pocket-sized brass band that surprises as much as it brings people together. Its mission: to bring classical music out onto the streets, for everyone to see and hear.
Often seen as elitist, classical music has nevertheless been with us for as long as we can remember. Whether used in films or adverts, heard at school or hummed by those around us, many melodies are familiar to us even if we cannot always name them.
From Guillaume de Machaut to Lili Boulanger, from Bach to Stravinsky via Debussy and Mozart, Classic Béton takes the audience on a journey through seven centuries of music. This mini-orchestra, comprising two wind players and two percussionists, offers a bold and uninhibited reinterpretation of the classical repertoire — with the raw energy of the street.
